2012 November : Jon Jonsson in Singapore

After completing his BS in Astrophysics and an arduous journey for JD degree specialized in Intellectual Property and Patent, Jon Jonsson has a little break to resume his modeling adventure instigated by his winning of Manhunt: The Search for the America Most Gorgeous Male Model in 2004. He has chosen Singapore to be his base again.  

Biography

Jon Jonsson (born Jon Grimkell Helgason) was born in Reykjavík, Iceland to an Icelandic father who is a atmospheric research scientist and a Thai mother who is a teacher. Jon is one of three boys of the Jonsson household. At the age of his family migrated to the United States, firstly New York, Colorado then finally in Carmel, California. This is where he spent most of his childhood and did not leave the United States for 17 years.  

Jon was one of 20 contestants on Bravo TV's Reality show Manhunt: The Search For America's Most Gorgeous Male Model, which was hosted by Carmen Electra, had Male Supermodel Bruce Hulse and Victoria's Secret Supermodel Marisa Miller as judges. Jon eventually won the male modeling competition in New York, after winning Manhunt in 2004, winning a 4-year $100,000 contract with the prestigious New York-based agency IMG Models, he modeled and signed with major agencies in Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Germany. Most notably, Jonsson was a temporary video jockey for Channel V Southeast Asia, and landed covers for several major magazines such as V, Men's Health, Urban, Female, New Man, Galaxie, 8 days and Catalog in Singapore. He also modeled in campaigns for companies such as Abercrombie and Fitch, Ed Hardy, OCBC Bank, Sing Tel, KMS California, Peter Alexander, Puma, Esquire and headlined various runways shows and hosted the Singapore Fashion Festival for MediaCorp. Jonsson made special guest and cameo appearances in television programs like Villa Wellness, Miss Singapore 2005, E! and MTV. He has worked with renown photographers like Bruce Weber and Chuando and Frey.

He quit modeling completely in 2007 to focus on his education, however he has since returned as of 2011, signing with Click Boston and resigning with Nous Models in Los Angeles. As of 2012 he is represented by Look Model Agency in San Francisco and AVE Management in Singapore. 

In 2009, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Astrophysics from the University of California, Santa Cruz, a top ranking school in the space sciences. He wrote a thesis relating to the magnetic field signatures of Jupiter's moons. In May of 2012, Jonsson graduated from the University of New Hampshire School of Law (formerly Franklin Pierce Law Center),a top ranking school for interdisciplinary Intellectual Property Law. He is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. 

Jonsson is an avid surfer and mountaineer.
